La storia della famiglia Caparra coincide con l’inizio della coltivazione dei terreni a vigneti nei borghi di Cirò e Cirò Marina. Nella prima metà dell’800
Salvatore Caparra era già non solo produttore di uva, ma anche vinificatore e produttore di olio. La tradizione di viticoltori fu seguita dai figli e
principalmente da Salvatore Caparra, detto Tuccio dagli amici, nato nel 1903 grazie al quale nacque la prima cantina meccanizzata. Attualmente
l’azienda di Nicodemo e Salvatore (padre e figlio) conta circa 10 ettari di vigneti che producono 500/600 ql di uva, tra gaglioppo e greco bianco
così come vuole la tradizione.
The history of the Caparra family coincides with the beginning of the cultivation of vineyards in the villages of Cirò and Cirò Marina. In the first half
of the 19th century Salvatore Caparra was already not only a grape producer, but also a winemaker and oil producer. The tradition of winemakers
was followed by the children and mainly by Salvatore Caparra, known as Tuccio by friends, born in 1903 thanks to which the first mechanized winery
was born. Currently the company of Nicodemo and Salvatore (father and son) has about 10 hectares of vineyards that produce 500/600 quintals of
grapes, including Gaglioppo and Greco bianco as tradition dictates.
